I teach music the same way language is learned, as both involve learning to listen, speak, write, and read. I start students off with the skill of listening as I demonstrate how the instrument is played, and then move them into "speaking" by guiding them in the basics of technique that will allow them to begin producing basic sounds. Often the goals for students depends on demands from school, so it is important to establish these based on school requirements as well as personal accomplishments the student may have. I was interested in teaching from a young age; I loved to play school with my friends. I started tutoring in high school, as well as teaching private flute lessons. I have taught private lessons since 2017 and have loved every moment of it, both with beginners and with more advanced high school students. I began working as a marching band technician in 2021 and have since worked for numerous schools. Spending time with these students of all ages and interests brings me great joy, and I know that further pursuance of music will bring the same fulfillment to students for years to come. Read More

I am passionate and highly motivated about music and teaching music. I have been studying piano for over 10 years now. I graduated from Weber State University (WSU) with a Bachelor's of Music in Keyboard Pedagogy. I have performed many times in solo and ensemble works in different settings during my education. Now that I am building my own woodwind studio, I want to emphasize learning the basics, as I lacked that in my own early schooling. Music fundamentals are the building blocks of successful musicians. My curriculum will include the Breeze Easy method books, Rubank beginner and intermediate books as well as Suzuki flute and piano books and other etude and repertoire pieces to help the students build a solid library of their own.
