Every student has different goals in their music lessons. I aim to create a fun and safe learning environment that doesn't put unnecessary pressure on students. No matter what one teaches, the burden to learn ultimately lies on the student. I believe what truly makes a great teacher is the ability to invoke interest in the given topic, so that the student wants to learn more! I strive to help my students find the same joy I get from music and desire to practice/learn more. Read More

My goal is to help my student evolve into a creative, critically thinking, and fundamentally strong musician.I want my student to find his/her own creative voice through music. Even if the student does not pursue a career in music, through this process he/she will have developed invaluable skills and confidence. Seeing students acquire that self-confidence and creative voice is what makes teaching worthwhile. Read More
Instruments: Clarinet
I start teaching to beginners, mostly kids and teenagers, the French Clarinet Method of H. Klose book 1 accompained by an appropiate solo repertoire for the level and warm up excersices, once the student has progressed with all the clarinet fundamental tecniques I introduce the second part of the method and varied solo pieces that can be performed in solo recital performances, and school concerts. In the case of adult students I make an evaluation of their level and abilities with the instrument and elaborate a program regarding to their main interest with the instrument that keeps them engaged. From there we would move on to how to properly hit the drum and bounce the stick. The first few lessons are usually all about technique and approach and we would mainly stay on one drum or surface, but after that we would move to the drumset or another area that interests the student. Instruments: Piano Voice
I have been consistently teaching private music lessons for the past 18 years. I began my own music education with piano and was always very active with choral singing during my younger years. I began studying voice in college, and found the piano background was an invaluable asset! At the end of high school I had traveled internationally for choral competitions and throughout college, I continued with classical solo performances, while branching in to opera roles and musical theater productions. The philosophy underlying my teaching method can be summed up this way: If you can say it, you can play it. "Wop bop a loo bop a lop bom bom!" I'll bet I can teach you that rhythm quickly if I say it to you. And once you say it, it's easy to play on the drums. Some people play by ear and others by note, but I think it's best to do some of each. Read More
