From my childhood, I had a desire to take piano lessons. My parents were not able to provide the lessons so I delivered newspapers to pay for the tuition. The amount of income does not cover fully for the tuition but I never gave up. I sometimes practice on my own without lessons, I was able to play all hymn songs regardless key signatures so I was able to play as accompanist at church in age of 12 years old. Read More

I use the Alfred teaching method in my lessons, however I do not stop there. Over the years I have developed my own sense of method which I have incorporated into my lessons. For children and Middle school level students I make use of the iPad and a MIDI keyboard to help them learn musical notes and music theory. I use a variety of music apps to help and guide them with a fun activity to learn and develop their reading skills. Read More

I started teaching at 11. People heard me play, and they wanted their children to learn. I found that I loved teaching and when I went to college I took the pedagogy course. I found it totally inadequate. It did not teach you how to deal with your student or their parents. I want my students to learn and although most will have music as a hobby I want everyone to play the best they possibly can. Read More

I always try to make my classes fun and engaging. I manage a very particular teaching method based on how I have learned from my mentors. On the first class I ask what the student's interest is and what would make him/her happy to learn, how the student imagines playing and what styles of music are the favorites ones. If the student is beginner, I like to start teaching basic knowledge of instrument technique accompanied by easy rhythms so that the student feels motivated. Read More

I generally like to have students use a music curriculum book in addition to playing songs they enjoy.I recently created a custom music lesson book for guitar, called Suncho School of Music Guitar Method. This book reflects my unique teaching style, and I went out of my way to make it fun and relatable for kids, teens, and adults alike. I always find out what the student is interested in and what motivates him or her. Read More

If my students aren’t enjoying their lessons, I feel I’m not doing my job effectively! I also emphasize creativity, encouraging students to compose their own original pieces, alongside preparing for competitions and recitals. These experiences give them a sense of accomplishment and inspire them to continue learning. I am always excited to welcome new students of all ages and skill levels, tailoring my approach to meet each individual's needs and goals. Read More
