At all levels (beginner-advanced), I teach piano performance, technique, music theory, ear training, and sight reading. My curriculum follows the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) standards, and students are strongly encouraged to take RCM examinations as they progress through each level. Although every student's piano journey will look different based on their musical goals, preferences, etc., the RCM standards provide guidelines upon which I design a personal curriculum for each student. I have maintained a private studio since early in my undergraduate degree (6 years ago). In addition to active flutist, he has also served as arts administrator in several summer festivals, The Festival Institute at Round Top (2003), Spoleto Festival USA (2004), and Marlboro Music Festival (2005~). I usually start out by doing the methods book but I also stress the importance of playing with others in a group or duet setting. I love getting to play the teacher part with my students so it's more of a collaboration than a solo job. My goal is to have my students play duets with each other if that can be accommodated.
