I choose a teaching method that is geared toward the student's learning style and personality - and especially age. There's nothing worse than using a method for children with a teen or adult! I'm a fun, energetic teacher who enjoys helping students find their inner passion for music. In 2012, I graduated from UNC - Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Mathematics. While studying composition under Dr. Allen Anderson, I premiered and recorded pieces for brass trio, wind quintet, percussion ensemble, and soprano with piano accompaniment. Piano - I find that no one method book is completely standalone, so i incorporate several method books...Piano Adventures, John Thompson's course, Piano Pronto, and some self-composed music for my youngest students!  Intermediate-level pianists start choosing some of their own repertoire as well. I'm a passionate musician who loves composing original works and inspiring other people to fall in love with music. Despite the lack of formal degrees in a music related major, I've been certified to teach piano and have substituted for piano teachers on multiple occasions. I collaborate with local musicians that include drummers, guitarists, singers, and bassists and love to perform in front of audiences.
