Hi, My name is Solomon and I am a passionate artist, musician, producer, teacher (Piano/Keyboard Acoustic/Electric Guitar) and student of music performance and music production. In 2011, i stepped deeper into my music career by beginning to experiment with neo-soul, classic rb, funk and reggae music via taking music theory and piano classes at Morgan State University, soon joining the professional musicians in the area who performed publicly. I've been producing music and performing for 9 years, both on stage and in-studio production sessions. Read More

I am a passionate, thoughtful and motivated instructor who loves to work with students and help them reach their full musical potential. I follow ABRSM (associated board of the royal schools of music) guidelines and create a lesson plan that includes technical exercises, proper piano repertoire and theory awignments. I encourage students to select repertoire that highlights their strengths. I like to help them prepare for recitals and public performances. Read More

Having started piano relatively late, I was always taking account of what my experience and thoughts were as I progressed forward. I am familiar with and aware of the issues that bog down a lot of beginner students (of all ages) and try to solve these issues in unconventional and exciting ways. I don't believe that performing the same exercise over and over will get you to where you want to be -- music-making is something that happens over a very long period of time but there is always something you can do on the short term that will prove to be rewarding and musically stimulating. While living in Los Angeles and attending music school I was also teaching bass guitar part time. This was my first time teaching for money although I have been helping many musicians around me since I was young. I have a lot of experience with studio sessions, which requires learning the music and being able to improvise on the fly, while recording. This requires full knowledge of the instrument. I can cover many genres and teach you the basic fundamentals of these genres and proceed to teach you advanced techniques that will give you your own style. Read More
Instruments: Piano Cello
My first experience giving private lessons was at a summer music camp right before my senior year in high school. I have consistently taught piano and cello students for over 10 years independently and as an affiliate of local music stores. My goal as a teacher is for each of my students to make gradual progress each week as they become more proficient with their exercises and music. I hold at least 2 recitals a year which I strongly encourage everyone to take part in. Read More

I choose to work step by step. Not to force them or pressure them on anything. As I mentioned above, having this balance between having fun, enyoing and learning how to be responsible and dedicated, is healthy and efficient! Important is to understand that to learn an instrument, you also need to practice, at least 30 min per day and not just only wanting to have the lesson, because the progress will be very minimal and slow, and the learning process will become very boring.
