Voice- Depending on how long the lesson is we work on vocal warmups then work on a song. In a 30 min lesson we do vocal warmups for 10 minutes then work on a song fir 20 minutes.Learning the proper vocal technique. I typical use Alfred's, Piano Adventures or Bastien's Piano Basics for children and I emphasis doing scales/finger exercises. I also encourage ear training. For Intermediate students, I use Bach, Burmuller, and Sonatas. Though I would love to follow books to make sure no fundamental skills/knowledge will be missed, from time to time, I would love to keep students motivated by letting them to pick a song they want to learn (no matter their levels are) and we will be working on that song. Since the age of 11, Anna Kate has held a tremendous passion for classical flute. It was her junior year of high school when she decided to pursue a career in music and started her journey by joining the Greater New Orleans Youth Orchestra, which toured in France, performing at large concerts in various cities. Subsequently she was accepted to the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts High School to further advance her studies in flute, requiring extensive time commitments of practicing five plus hours per day.
