My teaching experience, on the individual and private level, goes back to my college days where I would tutor other students in piano to pass their keyboard barriers. While in the active duty military (I'm retired now), I provided private lessons to children and adults in my available time. It is important to remember that a student's individual practice time is invaluable; the lesson time is NOT supposed to be the first time to be reviewing an assigned piece! Read More

I was born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama. I came to Arizona pursuing my masters degree in music performance, and have stayed in the Valley of the Sun. My time is spent teaching private lessons, working for Weber Reeds oboe repair and supply shop, and playing with various groups around the valley, such as Arizona Pro Arte and Scottsdale Philharmonic. I live in Chandler with my husband, Chad. Read More

The more exposure I've had to teaching, the more I have grown to love the challenge and opportunity that comes with sharing my passion for music with others. In the past few years, I've had students as young as 7 and as old as 55. In each case, I've been careful to craft a curriculum that meets the interest and ability of each student. Read More

I believe that every student has the potential to succeed. It is my goal as an instructor to guide the student toward their vision of success, whether it be personal, professional, or some mixture of both. Every student should be challenged, but nobody should ever feel as if music is some form of art that is lost on them. I seek to set standards and expectations high to learn alongside the student and to grow, both as people and as musicians, until the point at which they have exhausted my knowledge so that they may one day reminisce with pride and accomplishment on the path that I have set them upon. Instruments: Piano
My teaching style is one in which students will feel comfortable, relaxed, and self motivated. I am patient, encouraging, and flexible with my students. They will set short and long range music goals and will have fun practicing their lessons and working to reach their goals. All students are different and will learn at a different pace. I praise my students for their accomplishments and hard work. It is very important to me that my students leave their piano sessions feeling happy and looking forward to their next piano lesson session. Read More

For violin I usually use Suzuki Method and will introduce etudes like Wohlfahrt or Kreutzer. I also have fun with Christmas music, pop and fiddle. If they are young children aged 4-6, I will use the "I Can Read Music" by Joanne Martin. For guitar I use a variety of different classical method and etude books. In addition, I will introduce different genres according to what each student wants to learn, for example, rock, pop, worship, etc. Read More
