My teaching experience back in the day was when I started working as a music teaching assistant more than 20 years ago. I will pay attention to the kids who were not be in learning music. That's what I thought, and I know I'll have to slow down and find the way that influencing their study or if they just want to be more active instead of sitting around. It would be helpful if I suggested to parents encouraging their kid(s) to put themselves joining on recitals at least once a year to create excitement, confidence and competitiveness. Read More

My methods change according to the ability, age, and personality of my students. I always use a variety of materials for both young students and adults to keep them interested. I enjoy spending the time needed to address proper practice habits, so that students are able to make the most of their time at the piano. I strongly believe that a traditional classical foundation is helpful for all pianists, but encourage both kids and adults to explore all the repertoire that they love. Read More

I like to emphasize what good practice means and how it relates to my students' goals. I then teach larger musical concepts through the pieces of music that my student wants to learn in order to maintain motivation and interest- music is meant to be fun and enjoyable after all! I'm happy to head in whatever direction my student wants, whether thats continuing to learn songs, making thier own music, or delving more into music theory and intrumental techniques. Read More

For my students, I tailor my methods based on the specific student's musical goals and their experience. I use a combination of method books and my own original teaching material to emphasize certain topics/skills. Instead of going from one page to the next in a music book, I like to combine multiple books and original practices to keep my students interested. Some of my students want to learn theory, some want to learn improvisation and some just want to learn their favorite songs. Read More

For beginner students of drums and piano, we start with the basics. That includes, grasping a solid understanding of common musical terms, and applying them to properly learn to read and play songs. Once a student has a solid grasp of basic music theory, I will begin to challenge them and push them to new heights with new standards, and more challenging pieces to play. When a student has truly become adept, I love to look toward competitions and festivals that will give students that extra push that helps them build motor skills and self-discipline that will be of use in all areas of life. My guitar playing is based on feeling, so every note that I play or write on a song has some meaning to me, I am not going to play whatever just to fill up space in your record or live shows. Keeping in mind that I am from Chile, I have a different spice in my sound that you can find in Latin American artists. I am a big fan of Cumbia, Bachata, and dancing rhythms that you dont commonly find in the USA. Read More
