There is a child version and an older beginner version. For students who are not beginners, I find them solo pieces that are suitable for them that they enjoy so that their playing will progress. For beginning students, I use the first Essential Element book to introduce the first instrument and theory concepts. Once students have progressed past this book, I use the Tune a Day series along with the accompanying scale book. This book introduces students to solo and duet pieces worthy of a recital performance. Once they have reached the third book and are progressing through etudes, students begin working on individual solo repertoire pieces. Read More

For beginner students who are children, I usually use Faber and faber method series or the Alfred method series. All curriculum is based on age, so that it will help students learn at their own pace and level. Once the student gets to a certain point, I start adding in fun pieces that the child suggest, or might like, to add to what he or she is already learning. For an adult, or students around the age of twelve and up, I will use the adult versions of Faber and faber or Alfred. Read More

I began teaching privately in 1999 when i started music school at the university of alabama. I then moved to Miami in 2006where i taught through the school of music.
