For beginning students who are children, I typically start with the Alfreds Basic Piano Library method and theory books. Ideally, a new song is assigned every week and the student will practice daily. During lessons we will review the piece that the student has practiced, I will provide feedback, and we will move forward to a new skill. I create a hands on curriculum based on the students musical proficiency. Alongside this structured lesson plan, every student will receive training on proper practicing techniques which help build their sense of guidance, responsibility, and structure. Since I have an Administrators degree and have concentrated on many Healthcare/Science classes regarding disabilities, I can tailor my lessons to students who may be dyslexic or have ADHD. I began assisting teachers during high school for extra credit. It later became my job during Full Sail. I worked extensively with grades K-5 on reading, writing and math skills enrichment.
