I am an adjunct faculty member at NYU, teaching saxophone, clarinet, and keyboard, and music theory. Worked with students who prepared for Regional Orchestra, All Sate Orchestra, pre college for Juilliard , Mannes and Mahattan School of Music. Also teach for adults. Every Year I am getting a Student Concert. All of my Students play in the Concert as a Soloist. For this I have grown the string and choral programs in Elmhurst's 51st Avenue Academy; taught violin, viola, and chamber music at the Queens College Center for Preparatory Studies in Music; led the Stony Brook Pre-College chamber music program; taught strings and chorus in Kiev, Ukraine; taught graduate education courses at Touro College online; and enjoy teaching music at NJ's Calderone School. Every lesson begins with vocal warm ups and breathing exercises, the importance of which can't be understated. Just as athletes wouldn't take the field without stretching, singers should never sing without giving their voice time to warm up. Warming up also serves as an excellent way for Jon to gauge student progress and make sure they are vocally healthy. After warm-ups, we move on to song study.
