I have taught privately since 2006, though occasionally I will take two students from the same household, church or neighborhood and pair them up in what is known as a "partner lesson". Each person takes turns at the piano playing their respective scales, repertoire etc. and we offer one another encouragement as well as constructive criticism for those technical issues in need of improvement. I do hold seasonal recitals during Christmas and spring seasons as an outlet for my students to showcase the songs and pieces they have learned throughout the year. Read More

Instead of using existing method books which may or may not contain music that the student can relate to, I like to use the favorite songs of the student. Once the student makes known his/her request I then create an arrangement of that particular song and tailor it to suit their level ( beginner ,intermediate, advanced ). This ensures a high level of interest and motivation on the students part. For those students who insist on using method books I'm OK with that too ( So the traditionalists are welcome too). These local children reminded me of myself when I was younger and strived to study music with a financially-difficult background. Helping these kids really was the highlight of my day as I could see how music has helped them grow. I will always feel grateful and excited to give back to my communities through what I do. After moving for college, I have continued to teach and tutor students and expanding these lessons to include more subjects such as songwriting, music theory, and music business. Read More

I first started teaching how to play guitar and giving music lessons when I began to go to college, I used to teach as a part time job while I was studying, when I've graduated I switched from part time to full time, I've worked in several music institutions and I'd also given private classes, nowadays I devote this by doing more private classes in students homes and online, maybe soon I'll have my own studio to teach where I can bring my students into a more comfortable environment with more teaching tools for the learning process. I use multiples methods. One of them is the Susuki method. I consider that is a good method for beginners with a lot of techniques exercises and also includes pieces. For me it is essential that a student learn first all the techniques exercises and then start to create music. After that I started to teach how to respect the essential aspects in a piece: the fingering, the bowing, the dynamics, the tempo and others. Read More
