I'm a musician who is working every day to perfect my craft and love to meet students where they are in their musical journey to help them achieve their own goals with music. I graduated from Skidmore College as a Music major in 2020. I am primarily a jazz musician, but I have experience in a wide variety of genres, including classical, rock, blues, funk, pop, and more. My teaching style is both rigorous and positive. I believe that the best way to learn any skill is through hard work and persistence in a judgement-free, positive psychological environment. I work in a routine every lesson so that students understand the next step in the process. I make accommodations for each student depending on their personal goals, needs, and learning styles. No two students are the same, so no two lessons should be the same. Read More

My goal is always to make students self-sufficient. I want students to be able to warm-up, practice and improve on their own. I did not become a great singer until I learned how to workout problems for myself. I also want to see students gain confidence and believe that they can perform in public and accomplish their singing goals. Improving one's singing can be an avenue to gaining greater confidence in other aspects of life. Read More

Balance between discipline and creativity. We tend to lean towards certain musical elements at different times of our musical developments. I try to be sensitive to the unique interests of each student, and at the same time use my experience to suggest material that would nourish their particular musical interests. There are a lot of aspects in learning to play the piano and explore music. Reading , memorizing ,hearing ,performing, composing and improvising.I try to include all of the above in the lessons but again I'm sensitive to the individual interests of each student. Read More

I have had many students on and off over the years. I tend to focus on making music or teaching but not both as I find doing anything well involves 100% committment. For the next 4 or 5 years I am focused on teaching exclusively. My knowledge is vast and I am excited to convey this knowledge to others! Trust me you will not be disappointed! The methods I teach will not only get you progressing but self-progressing and will cover a variety of instruments. Read More

There are many different methods, practices, and philosophies that one can use when teaching drumming, and the most effective approach will depend on the individual student and their needs and goals. Begin with the basics: Before diving into more complex rhythms and techniques, it's important to establish a solid foundation of basic drumming skills. This might include proper hand and foot technique, basic rhythms, and an understanding of the different parts of the drum set. 2. Read More
