I love music! I hope to spread my love of music to you. I have been playing the piano for more than 45 years and enjoy watching students grow with their interest and passion for the piano. I compose and produce music as well, so I can bring perhaps a deeper perspective to studying music and the theory that is behind it. I have a Latin Grammy nomination, a Native American Music Award (NAMA), as well as experience producing and composing commercial music for large companies in many genres. Read More

I keep lessons tailored to each student's needs and skill level. Students come to private music tutors for many reasons and some do not include a "passion" for the art , itself. Some wish to develop an appreciation for music to which they listen, to gain a greater knowledge of music literature, or to acquire skills for a passtime they find relaxing and enlightening. Occasional testing for retention of basic knowledge, plus technical examination for practical skill progress helps to keep the student on track with regards to his/her own goals.l Read More

I am a positive piano teacher and good with both children and adults. I use positive reinforcement that I learned from working with people with disabilities. I studied piano, theory and composition in college for three years and have studied with performing artists afterwards. I have worked with other professionals to compose a ballet and enjoy working with young people. I performed in college many times and have the experience to teach students the challenges in memorization and performance. Read More

I incorporate a well-rounded approach with my students by teaching musical skills beyond their particular instruments such as aural skills and theory. I use my background and training in Kodaly and Orff to teach music like a language by directing my students through experience and practice of the concept for better understanding. I use positive reinforcement and keep things fun for all ages. In each lesson, I work on aural skills and theory through fun warm-up games that get gradually more challenging as time continues. If there is a particular song that a student is interested in learning, I will do my best to find the music for it and if it is not available, I will transcribe a version myself. As far as drumset goes, I teach the students the way I was taught. I first teach them the basics on snare drum. Then we move to snare and bass and afterwards snare, bass drum, and hi-hat. Read More
