My teaching style is all about enjoying music and the instrument. I can pick up when a student is frustrated, confused or embarrassed and adjust the lesson accordingly. Overall, I want my students to have fun! I enjoy teaching how to read music and once a few notes are learned, I start applying it to songs that my students really enjoy. Most of the pieces I chose on my own were movie scores or television theme songs such as The Wizard Of Oz, Star Wars, Titanic, and the Simpson's theme. I absolutely adored these pieces of art and still do to this day. It is good to learn from books, but also important to vet information that is not necessarily needed or already soundly in their techniques.
