Piano was not my primary instrument in college, but I used the piano to connect with my musical and emotional expression while I studied my music degree, throughout my internship, and out into the professional world when I began practicing music therapy full time. After Book 1 of each series, we begin to explore standard repertoire. Alfred Book 2 is a large jump in difficulty, meant only for more advanced students. Guitar / Bass: New guitar or bass students will start with Essential Elements Book 1. All new students will focus on learning the fretboard and learning how to play common chords and tabs. I've had quite extensive experiences in teaching. Teaching and tutoring began during my high school days. I would help out after classes or teach piano on the side. Coming up will be my 6th year in teaching piano. I've also tutored my peers all throughout college in music theory, musicianship, and ear/aural training. I've interned at an elementary school for a semester teaching general music. I am singing with my students for 3-5 minutes each lesson which help them to hear music in a better way. My little players really love it.
