I have studied classical piano for 10+ years with the Field Studio, Myra K Garvette, and the Westport School of Music, as well as at Fairfield University. I also have chamber music ensemble experience, having gone to CAM Camp and working with piano trio and quartet ensembles under Millette Alexander. For beginners I start with Nancy Fabers books. There are colorful pictures and notes and easy steps on how to start to play and enjoy. I had a very successful year with Nancy Fabers materials. Once the children know the music alphabet, they can play any song they like. With advanced students, I start from what they know already and continue to explore all musical elements. I like to choose appropriate grade level music that the child would like, whether it is a classical or pop song. Read More

Sharing music with my students is my greatest passion. I have been playing music since I was nine years old. Music has provided me with many valuable lessons and opportunities of which I instill on my students. I am a Trombonist, Guitarist, Composer and Arranger with a BFA in Jazz Performance from the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York City. Some of my experiences as a professional musician include touring Europe with the JMI World Orchestra in 2017, performing at Carnegie Hall, The Apollo Theater, Dizzy's Club Coca Cola and many other venues through New York City, as well as many years of teaching, both privately and in groups. I first began teaching in 2012, when I gave volunteer drum lessons. Shortly after that, I began giving piano and voice lessons both in schools and one-on-one. Currently, when I'm not teaching private lessons, I work part-time as a traveling pre-school music teacher, where I teach preschoolers music with my guitar, picture books, and even puppets! I am comfortable teaching students of all ages but prefer young children, as they can benefit the most from developing a passion for their instrument, which can lead to a lifelong pursuit of music. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it; the most rewarding parts of my China tour was my time spent coaching young pianists in music schools.
