I received a BA Degree in music at Columbia College back 2001. My Major was Music Education and my minor was Child Development . I also a piano accompanist at Tuesday morning bible class at my church Since 2015. I sings in the church choir for 23 years . I started learning how to play the piano at ages 7 and a half. I continue to studied music in grammar and in high school. I played in the Jazz band once in College and played the keyboard at the Jazz Summer Festival once 21 years ago. Read More

I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. I teach scale positions and chords, improvising, and use various methods of piano repertoire, the students learning style dictates the structure of instruction. My students learn to play folk tunes "by ear" and transpose them to each of the 12 keys, including the minor keys. In addition, my students compose their music in order to learn to read music. We learn "fun music" as well as pop, and classical. I started "Night at The Movies" at a university where i teach, the students composed their own song, and made a video that expresses the message to go with it. Read More

As a solo artist, I achieved success in both national and international competition. I placed first in American Protg International Competition in which I was invited back to perform Liebermann's Gargoyles as a first prize winner at Carnegie Weill recital hall in New York. I placed second in Liszt-Garrison International Competition in Baltimore, MD., and I was selected as an Alternate Illinois State Winner and Honorable mention at MTNA Young Artist Competition in 2012 and 2013.
