Instruments: Piano
Alfred Publishing piano courses (both older and newer), Faber and Faber, Bastien, Edna Mae Burnam, and the Hal Leonard course have all been among my pre-published methods that I have used over the years. I have also adopted some technic content from elsewhere. For example, the Zion Conservatory of Music, where I taught from 2004 to 2018, uses a couple of different customized scale patterns for first- and second-year students. A book I have used with intermediate students is a Conus Russian piano method edited by James and Susan McKeever, who taught the Parkside piano pedagogy courses. Read More
Instruments: Piano
I typically begin by teaching students how to visiually identify the keys on the piano, as well as notes on sheet music. Then I like to begin to work on finger shape when playing, as well as basic scales. As we continue practicing with the fundamentals, I like to pick simple identifiable songs for students to move into next. Easily recognizable melodies make the learning process easier, more attainable to the student, and fun! Read More

In 2011, I graduated from University of Nis, Serbia with a Bachelor's degree in General Music Pedagogy. I'm a very patient and motivated instructor who loves working with students. Read More

I am neither strict nor laid back. In order to improve, however, students are required to practice everyday (even if it is for 15 minutes a day). I do not demand perfection from my students, but I do expect students to put in the effort to learn. I truly want to teach students to play music and I want to encourage students to find joy in making music. Read More
Instruments: Piano Keyboard
I have over 10 years of teaching experience with the last 7 years being full time. I started playing piano when I was 5 so I have over 22 years of playing experience. The number one thing I stress about learning to play the piano (except practice of course!) is that you need to be having fun at all times. Music is supposed to be fun so it’s my job to make sure my students are enjoying each lesson and each time they sit down at their piano. Read More
Instruments: Piano Guitar Saxophone Flute
For beggining students in guitar or piano, I would have them start with a basic beggining book such as something by hal leonard. With guitar I will teach basic chords and go from there to working on songs. Scales and chords will be a big part of beggining work in these instruments. As for Saxophone, I will usually begin with scales and long tone work- the later being something extremely important. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice Trumpet Synthesizer French Horn Keyboard
I focus particularly on comfort adn compassion on my lessons. I always want to help students develop and discover their own most efficient way of learning. I check in with students regularly before, during and after lessons to make sure I am tailoring the lesson to their needs as much as possible. I believe in positive reinforcement, and if my students aren't practicing, I need to make my lessons more engaging! Read More
