 Drawing upon my education and experiences as both performer and teacher, I strive to relate my musical background to my students' learning experiences and progress. As each student comes with his or her individual musical wants and interests, student lessons are designed to meet these needs of a particular student. I have young students of ages 5 to 14 as well as students of upper ages. Every student is a snowflake, meaning everyone has their own unique preferences and dislikes. I customize my teaching style depending on the student and allow them to progress at their own pace. I like to first introduce students to basics and learn their tastes so I can modify their teaching regimen. I assign students "homework" or practice songs each week to ensure they are maintaining their routine, and if they deviate from this for some reason for more than two weeks, I immediately tune my teaching style to best motivate my students to want to practice. I'm a fun, energetic teacher who enjoys helping students find their inner passion for music. In 2012, I graduated from UNC - Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Mathematics. While studying composition under Dr. Allen Anderson, I premiered and recorded pieces for brass trio, wind quintet, percussion ensemble, and soprano with piano accompaniment.
