I strongly believe that everyone can learn to sing as long as they desire to learn and are willing to practice. I enjoy working with students of all ages and abilities, and pride myself on being able to teach pretty much anyone and everyone. I begin all students with the same fundamentals: a healthy, natural, honest voice centered on the breath and not forced into any specific mold. This healthy base enables my students to sing a wide variety of genres and styles from classical, opera, musical theatre, jazz, rock, pop, country, and more. Read More

Every student starts or resumes classes at different levels. My job is to recognize that level and proceed accordingly. I like my students to be able to learn and progress at the rate they can or want to. Letting students let you know what they want to learn and at what pace, helps the student as well as the teacher in that progress. I like to tell my students that they will not only be a good player, but know exactly what they are doing. Read More

I try to create a relaxed, fun, trustworthy and focused, environment for the student. I like to ask them what’s interesting and appealing to them, then we start the lesson. When I teach at my studio and children come directly from school I give them a snack if they haven’t had any. Children cannot concentrate if they are hungry. We play musical games for the younger ones, so they can internalize either the beats or the values of the notation. Read More

I base my curriculum on an individual students needs, skills, and personal preferences in style/genre. I have experience teaching both the Classic and Suzuki methods. I approach teaching by focusing on fundamental theory and techniques. For more experienced students enrolled in school musical programs, lessons will support their class curriculum and help work on the skills they need to succeed in their class and their performances.
