i like to do a lot of exercises at the beginning of the class at least 15 minutes the we start whit the songs in the singing classes , for the instruments i like to do some exercises an the work on the technical books the with songs that the student like to play and also some recommend, i love to given rewards like compliments or another song that they love to practice that give motivation for the student. i like to give them homework or something to study at home , because more practice faster learning. With beginning students, I like to use a combination of Alfreds Basic method books. I like the variety it gives students from fundamentals to performance tunes, sight reading and music theory. Students will progress from playing on black keys only, hands separately, to simple five key songs very quickly. What I like to do in my studio is, set realistic goals for the student. I use "challenges" to help students achieve their goals. And reward them when they achieve them. I like using a lot of games as well to make piano learning fun. So I teach a lot of theory aspects using games with timers, and flash cards, dry erase dices and prizes when goals are meant. I am a motivated instructor who enjoys teaching students of all ages.  My experience includes playing from memory works by well known classical composers such as Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Chopin and Debussy.  These recitals were before I graduated.   My teachers were impressed that I could play these works from memory.  I enjoyed practicing for these recitals.
