As mentioned, I began teaching in my teenage years and to this day, it is one of my greatest passions. Equipping someone with new ways to express their love for music and emotions inside is absolutely thrilling to me! While i have mostly taught private lessons, I have also taught for a couple different music companies as well and had great success with my students! I find it very easy to “find the connection” right off the back with my students and they seem to respond very well to my personality and teaching styles. Read More

Since I specialize in teaching first time learners, I allow as much time needed to master fundamentals before advancement to anything else. It is key to build a strong foundation, this upholds most importance to me. Setting realistic goals for students and milestones will be made to set them up for success in the future. Incentives/awards will be gifted upon reaching certain milestones catered to the appropriate age. Learning is fun and should be approached in that way! Read More

My teaching style is overall fairly laid back. I let my students set the pace, but I also expect them to be passionate, curious, and hard-working. I love to encourage students as they explore different areas of their playing, and try different ideas. I push my students just out of their comfort zone, and force them to take risks. I encourage musical open mindedness, which means I truly think that there is value in all different styles of music. Read More

My teaching style is to be sensitive to each student. Each person has a different relationship and understanding of music. I try to identify and accommodate the ways in which the student learns best. Some students need explicit instruction and to be pushed, others need gentle guidance with time and space to work things out for themselves. A student's personality and ambitions will inform whether they need a relaxed environment or a more assertive variety of instruction. Read More

I’ve been teaching people music ever since college. Tutoring was a way to help pay the bills. It also gave me the chance to digest my knowledge outside of the classroom. My teaching methods vary for each student. Not everyone learns the same way. I design my lessons to compliment my student’s learning habits! However, I always provide a blend of classical and modern theory for each student, because I think it helps students become well rounded. Read More

I like to divide my lessons into three different parts the first part would be a warm up in wish we get ready all the necessary muscles involved in playing the instrument with exercises that would develop dexterity and coordination simultaneously, the second part of how to listen is based on learning a basic piece of music that is guaranteed to develop the basic skills to perform something that they are interested on, on the cliff part of the lesson is to choose a song that the student wants to learn and analyze it apply what we learned by playing the basic peace and the warm ups. I like a light, fun atmosphere during lessons, one that reflects the learning style and personality of each student. There are some not-so-fun things about learning music (practice schedules and repetition) but there are plenty of resources out there to help students stay interested and motivated. I like to reward accomplishments (stickers are always awesome) and offer opportunities for improvement. I work for a positive and balanced experience for every student. Read More
