I love being a teacher! I have been taking lessons since the age of three. I've studied with many different teachers and I love music as a way of life. I love teaching as much as I love playing and couldn't imagine doing any other job. I love working with a variety of students so that I can help them achieve their goals. I have helped a broad range of students achieve their goals from gaining music degrees themselves to being able to play Christmas carols for their grandchildren. Read More

I began teaching lessons in college when I was in a piano pedagogy class. At that time, I also began teaching private band and string instruments. I have taught students in various music classes, mostly band and music technology, in alternative, independent, and public schools for 15 years. Read More

Again there is room for me to bring music to the student, but also room for the student to bring something to me that they want to learn. Also a great opportunity to show the similarities between and differences between these two events. Read More

Every student learns differently, and I believe that it's important not to rush their development. Because playing music gets increasingly complicated, it's important that students are comfortable with their current skill level so that they can realistically challenge themselves to attempt the next one. This enables them to find their own strength and encourages autonomy in their creative experience. Read More
