His music was deeply moving and inspired me to pursue a life of music - specifically jazz saxophone. Best decision I've ever made! When I graduated in 1986 with an MM degree I began to pursue it full time which took me to many different middle/high schools in the area. I also taught at Lake Forest College as well as Saint Xavier University. In addition, I have also taught many beginners over the years. For all of my students, our first lessons will be focused on either setting a foundation for beginning musicians or finding what the student wants to work on to become a better musician. In my opinion, the most important foundational aspect of being a musician is developing a passion for music. No matter what level my student is at, we will work on having an appreciation for music.
