I absolutely love teaching the piano. I've taught kindergarten level students all the way up to 72 year olds. I've been teaching the piano for 7 years. During this time I've taught over 271 students how to play the piano, and over 500 students music theory. It's my goal to make sure that you reach the level of success on the piano that you desire. In fact, it was for this purpose that I was hired by a music school. Read More

Flexibility and creativity are the keys. Each student is different and learns/progresses in different ways. I believe in encouragement and positive reinforcement. Setting realistic goals while challenging the learner to grow is a delicate balance. Inspiring a love for practice is essential. There really is no magic to learning to play an instrument - you have to work at it - you just want that work to be fun! Read More

With young beginner students, I start with either the Essential Elements books for wind instruments or the Faber method for piano. After basic musical skills have been developed I'll move on to more interesting solo pieces based on the interests and needs of the students. With adults, I tend to talk to them a little more specifically about what their musical goals and influences are and help them to achieve them in their playing. Read More

I am a nurturer. I teach with caring, passion and support of all my students. It's not just enough show students how to play a note or read a rhythm, but how to use that knowledge in everyday life. I like to build a positive working relationship with my students. This way they look forward to their lesson, not only because they are comfortable around me, but because they are growing and learning about music and it's relationship to life. Read More
