For older students, especially high schoolers, I like to use a blue book called Foundations for Superior Performance (Warm-Ups and Technique for Band) by Richard Williams and Jeff King as the techniques in that book are more suited for what a high school-level player should be expected to play. As for adults, I recommend Brass Gym as well as books from made by university professors and other professional instrumentalists. Your child can't always be expected to advance in a teaching system that is the same for everyone. We are as individual as our structural makeup. Also, received my Masters degree from Cleveland State University studying with Shachar Israel, Assistant Principal Trombone of the Cleveland Orchestra, and hold Bachelor degrees from Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music and Kasetsart University, where my teachers were Shannon Pittaway and Teerapol Submool.
