Currently, I teach students from schools involved in TMEA and ATSSB. My students have had success in All Region auditions, Area auditions, and solo and ensemble. After that I received a bachelors degree in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas and then a masters degree in trumpet performance from the University of Texas at Arlington. I keep a busy schedule as a freelance musician and perform regularly with the Dallas Jazz Orchestra. I also do the occasional the tour with different groups. Additionally, I also have done All State Masterclasses for the TMEA trombone etudes. I always try to ask the student what the scene of a movie would be if they are playing the soundtrack, and get them to convey that when they play.
