I have been teaching Prek- 8th Grade general music, choir, drama and instrumental lessons for the past 5 years. My primary instrument is trumpet and I have played in a variety of bands and sung in a variety of choruses of the years.  I have taught in a variety of musical settings with a wide range of students and abilities. I have taught independently as well as for organizations such as the Youth Orchestra of Central NJ. In 2012 I worked for Camp Encore Coda where I taught trumpet lessons, directed the Symphonic Band, coached jazz combos, and taught music theory/musicianship class.  My experience working as full time music faculty for Camp Encore Coda sparked my graduate research on overnight summer music camp, which has since been presented at three major professional conferences in the music education field at the state, national, and international level.  Read More

I am a passionate instructor looking to teach my knowledge of trombone to any and all students. In May, 2018 I graduated from Lebanon Valley College with a BA in Music Business. For four years I took lessons with James Erdman, retired Marine Band first chair trombone, and performed in over 4 ensembles every semester. My teaching experience began in my years at Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC). Next to the music building, I began to volunteer at the local daycare that was right next to the arts building. That experience is what led me to want to become a studio instructor. After those 3 years passed, I was unfortunately unable to teach privately through my time at TCNJ, as I was learning as many new techniques and tricks for both the euphonium and the trombone as I possible could. Lessons are tailored to each individual. My teaching methods include a warm-up routine, scales, and etudes or songs from various method books, depending on the skill level of the student. Standard repertoire in classical and jazz studies is also covered. Sight-reading, improvisation, and ear-training are also a part of most lessons. Material that is time-sensitive for the student, such as school music (band/orchestra) as well as seating test/audition music is given top priority. Read More
