I've been a trombonist for 33 years. I graduated from Judson High School in Converse, TX in 1991, where I was Band President. We retained 1's in our marching and concert performances, as well as with the Jazz Ensemble. We won First Place in a National Marching and Concert competition in Colorado Springs, CO my senior year, as well as performing half time shows at two state football championship games. I currently teach part-time lessons out of my home studio in Copperas Cove, Texas. I focus on bringing out students talents and highlighting areas where they can improve, while bringing out their interest in growing as a musician. Though lessons are a key point in improving upon a students skills, consistent practice schedules at home are also an important step to growth in skill level. I will always recommend pushing students to enter competitions or perform in recitals, if they are available to them, but will never force a student into taking part in something out of reach or something uncomfortable.
