I have over 31 years of private teaching experience, and I teach all brass instruments, with trumpet being my specialty. Based on the strength and weakness of a students skill, a customized extracts from several different method/etude books such as Physical Approach by Gordon, Cornet Method by Beeler, Practical Studies by Getchell and etc. will be used. For example, if a student excels in range but needs an improvement in articulation, effective practice pieces for articulation will be extracted from various method/etude books for enhancement. I recently relocated to the Lehigh Valley. I've performed with many orchestras and have coached many students to be able to compete and perform at Carnegie Hall for many years. For beginning students who are children, I have a range of beginner method books that I like to choose from. I pick the one that suits the childs' needs the best, based on how the first few lessons go. We will then progress through the books and introduce supplemental materials, such as solo repertoire and other extras, once the student shows positive progress. I base my methods around the students and their needs to ensure the lessons are engaging and beneficial. Read More
