If the student is more advanced I will assign method books such as the Arbans, Clarke, and Charlier books. I also like to incorporate music the student is interested in and wants to learn. Based on the strength and weakness of a students skill, a customized extracts from several different method/etude books such as Physical Approach by Gordon, Cornet Method by Beeler, Practical Studies by Getchell and etc. will be used. For example, if a student excels in range but needs an improvement in articulation, effective practice pieces for articulation will be extracted from various method/etude books for enhancement.
