For example, in my experience, something that works for some students, really wont work for others, and if I can identify why something isnt working for a student, I can give them the right tools to fix it. Setting realistic goals is the best way to approach teaching private lessons. Being that I will only see a student, on average once a week, I tend to be honest and realistic about expectations and goals. I like set goals that are somewhat challenging but very attainable through motivation and fun.
