I have been playing violin for more than a decade. I began teaching violin three years ago at the same music school I started my own studies in. I started as a summer chamber councilor and then began teaching students as a private instructor. I use mainly the Suzuki method, and other non-traditional methods. I evaluate the students level, from there I make a step by step guide (of selected piece and etudes) to show the student their progress into the next level. I typically use the Applebaum String Builder method books, and supplement with solo pieces as needed. I encourage regular practice, as students who feel they are progressing and doing well tend to enjoy their instrument more. As they become more advanced, they are encouraged to start giving opinions on what they want to learn.
