There were only a handfull of students to whom I taught for two weeks in the summer. The program has grown tremendously since then; now offering lessons in piano, voice, bass, cello, viola and violin. I am now teaching a three week intensive as an extension of this program twice a year. My studio has grown to about 40 students, most of which are returning students each time. I then took over their classes and received feedback and guidance from them. Since moving to Chicago in 2017, I have worked with a music school and taught private lessons as well as group lessons in Chicago Public Schools. I believe music is unique because of individuality. I make lesson plans depending on each student's interests and learning progress. For young beginners, I encourage lots of participation from parents because it helps children feel supportive and it is always nice to see how much they grow. I started teaching violin at The Miracle Center, through the After School Matters program 10 years ago. Since then I've been violin teacher at several Chicago Public Schools, Chicago District Parks and violin teacher at the Puerto Rican Arts Alliance. I currently teach at CPS schools Thorp Scholastic Academy and Coonley Elementary. I've worked with students of all ages and enjoy finding new and fun ways to approach leaning.
