I started giving Music lessons 20 years ago. I began giving private lessons and group lessons part time in the afternoons after I finish school in the mornings. Young students come to me asking me for lessons after a Gig or performance. I found very interesting and exiting to see the progress of the students with my own personal methods. We follow a process with disciple but we also have fun and we go to the direction that the student feels more attracted. Read More

I have been teaching privately for fourteen years now. I studied under Dr. Ernest Salem at Cal State Fullerton and received various master class from members of Talich Quartet, Mary Straub, Wei-Wei Lu, and most notably James Buswell. My former teacher, Andrea Byers, studied with world renown, Ivan Galamian. I received my bachelor's with an emphasis in music education. My methods when it comes to the bow arm/hand come from the teachings of Galamian and DeLay. We then discuss what I'm hearing and seeing. I want to hear and see you at your best, and if I'm not hearing and/or seeing you at your best, then we need to match the two. If it's a mismatch (you sound all right, but your technique is not great), then we fix. Read More

Im a working composer, hailing from the Pacific Northwest, who is familiar with both the rigors of musicianship and the exploratory nature of creative work. I was awarded a masters degree in 2012 from Western Washington University where I also began a lengthy creative partnership with a non-profit dance company. Additionally, I lent my talents to some of the finest animators in the Seattle area, scoring works appearing at the Sundance Film Festival, the Seattle International Film Festival, nytimes.com, vanityfair.com, and numerous other venues. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, its important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress and this makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the students, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Read More

My teaching style is more relaxed and less strict than other teachers, especially for beginner students, though I do emphasize the importance of consistent practice and listening. I believe that not only practicing, but also listening to what you are practicing, especially, pieces is very important for the development of the musical ear. When teaching, I like to have the student practice and play many examples from the book that is being used, especially if they are short examples. Read More
