I've appeared in performance with Eyvind Kang, Vinny Golia, Bill Frisell, Steve Vai, and Dr. Nancy Ambrose King (under the direction of Maestro Jeffrey Kahane). As a soloist I've performed Bachs Concerto for Oboe and Violin with violinist Rachel Iba and the CalArts Ensemble, and won second prize in the Riverside Philharmonics 2018 Concerto Competition with my performance of Vaughan Williams Oboe Concerto. Once the student has a clear understanding of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire and etudes. To make the lesson more engaging, I am flexible in regard to choosing music pieces that a student may want to learn or not. I usually ask a student if they have a piece they would like to learn. I realized at a later point in my life that I would like to make teaching my profession and started getting more serious about how I would proceed with teaching music. I am an avid performer and teacher in the Los Angeles area. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, I attended Westmont College, University of Denver, and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. I was fortunate to study abroad at the Heidelberg Opera House in Heidelberg, Germany. In addition, I recently was chosen through rigorous auditions to be a Lincoln Center Stage Artist.
