I'm an ardent and compassionate instructor who enjoys sharing the gift of music with children and adults. Music enriches the communities in which we live and expands our capacity to connect with humanity. I studied privately with Philip J. Teibel of the Buffalo Philharmonic from childhood through High School. I toured the Southeast US with the Oberlin College Choir and Orchestra in college. Since graduation, I've had the opportunity to perform with numerous ensembles including: Soulful Symphony and the Baltimore Symphony at Meyerhoff Symphony Hall and Strathmore Music Center in North Bethesda. Over my years of teaching, I have learned that music is such an incredible outlet for my students to express themselves. Especially for younger students, it gives them a way to show their emotions when words are not enough. I enjoy watching my students grow as musicians and learn to articulate different concepts with confidence. I completed my bachelor's degree with a major in violin performance at Indiana University Bloomington in December 2022. I performed nine times on the Millenium Stage in the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC in solo and chamber group performances. I won multiple violin competitions in northern Virginia. Read More

This has brought me valuable perspectives of different musical styles, practice methods and systems. My journey in music began with a Bachelor of Music degree in Viola Performance from the prestigious New England Conservatory, followed by a Master of Music in Viola Performance from the Longy School of Music. I have a lot of experience with curriculum development. My favorite books to teach from include Accent on Achievement, Alfred's Piano Book series and Essential Elements. However I can teach without a book on any instruments and compose assignments as I have done in the past. Even if I am teaching using a book, I usually do a lot of ear training and music theory based assignments that are not found in these books. Read More
