Learning to read, write, and play music is essentially learning another language and having taught languages for several years, I know people move at different paces. Each student progresses at their own pace along with possibly participating in ensembles such as their school orchestra, All-State auditions, and more. I take all of these into consideration to create realistic goals for the students. Sharing my knowledge with my students and seeing them achieve something they worked hard for, and being part of the process is one of the biggest joys in teaching for me. I always aim to help my students produce a beautiful tone, while making sure they are not doing wrong physical movements that would make things difficult.
