I have been playing the violin since I was 3, my father was my first violin teacher.  Music is a big part of my life and I do enjoy performing and teaching very much.  I love sharing my music knowledge with others, seeing my students making progress and achieving their goals is priceless and makes my life more worth living.  I have performed as violin soloist, chamber musician and concertmaster of orchestras, those are valuable experiences I had in life that I'd love to pass on to others.  I have also had student recitals every year in the past ten years, my students and I have toured and performed in China. For beginning students I do follow the Suzuki Method to an extent, where they learn the main parts of the instrument and bow, how to hold it to prevent as much tension as possible, and some general ear training exercises to help with learning pieces. I have a list of games to do that especially work well with younger beginners, since their attention span is limited and I want to make the lesson time productive but also fun for them. Read More

In 2014 I founded the string program at Lincoln Heights Youth Arts Center, a program that provides affordable music classes to students aged 8-18. Additionally, in the past two years I have been the primary music instructor at Lincoln and Mountain Avenue Elementary Schools in La Crescenta. After eight years of work in music education I have developed a passion not just for the craft of the violin, but in helping each student to achieve their personal goals through fun and engaging music. I began teaching lessons about three years ago to a small number of students that included close friends and family members. Over these three years I have had about twenty students that were all at the beginner level. Teaching at a beginner level has helped me develop my style of teaching, as well as discover new ways of helping each individual student according to their learning capability. While I prefer to teach older students and adult students, I have also taught a small number of younger children, though it is often difficult for me depending on their age, and so I prefer older students.
