I focus my energy on the positive aspects of a students playing while offering feedback to improve their playing abilities even more, while providing a bag of tools for continuous improvement they can use their entire life. I collaborate with my students to determine their needs and goals. When starting out with beginners, I usually start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements for Strings. I then transition to Suzuki repertoire. I also include music individual to each student based on their interests. My methods are flexible and designed to draw out the strengths of each student. I like to have open communication with my students, and I like to get feedback from my students about where they are at so I can meet them there. Read More

Open-minded and flexible, Nerea strives for her students to learn through fun, hands on activities, always leaving her lessons with smiles on their faces. Beginner students are always taught the basics of posture, positioning and how to move the bow on the strings. They then go on to learn bowing and the strings names, followed by finger position and musical pieces.
