Back when I was in Venezuela, I was playing in my city's orchestra the entire time from 2002 to 2018. In that orchestra, which is a part of the renowned "El Sistema". El Sistema is a system that helps underserved communities get the music knowledge they would otherwise not be able to get. We had different levels of orchestras, from beginners to advanced. I started playing violin at the age of nine through my elementary schools string program. In addition to performing with the Discovery Middle School and Timber Creek High School orchestras, I participated every year in the all-county and all-state orchestras and served as associate concertmaster of the Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra. I completed a double major in general music and engineering at Northwestern University in Chicago. I want to see students have "Aha!" moments. When students feel happy and successful, I in turn feel the same way. My teaching philosophy is that learning is both fun and challenging. I want my students to enjoy learning. Students often comment that I'm funny, respectful, and patient. They think this is important because laughter relaxes instruction a bit, respect should go both ways between instructors/students, and a patient teacher reduces student frustration when they mess up.
