Piano can be fun and rewarding for a person of any age! The best age to begin piano lessons is 6 years old, but I also love working with children between the ages of 3 and 5.With beginners, I focus on planting a strong musical foundation that they can build on for years to come. For those further alongin their musical journey, I strive to cater to a student's specific musical needs whether they beimprovementin notationreading, technique, interpretation, ear-training, theory, improvisation, or embracing new styles. My teaching experience started in 2002 when I enrolled at the Conservatory of Music. Initially, I accepted private students in my home whose age ranged from 12 to 50 years years old. Then, after some time I decided to join the YMCA Music Department in Manila, Philippines. Since then, I have regularly taught students at home and at the YMCA studio. When I graduated, I started teaching music in the College of Music for students majoring in Voice and Choral Conducting. Read More

Namely, sheet-music for favourite songs, tunes, and melodies which they could then read and master visually what I had picked up audibly. Seeing the joy on my classmates' faces was always a pleasure of mine, so I indulged in it wherever possible, eventually taking it to the internet and indulging learners across borders, and from there, my lessons have evolved from mere musical distribution to regular and consistent technical tutoring. I like to work with students individually for their own goals and skill level. For younger students, we work on msuciality and basics of singing through devleopmentally appropriate (and fun!) songs. Regardless of the student's level, each lesson contains singing repertoire, vocal exercises to work on technique, and musicianship skills. The combination of these elements will depend entirely on the student's needs and desires! At the consultation lesson, I will provide a written assessment of where I see the student progressing and propose a plan to reach the students stated goals, focusing always on the process of individual development. I am a multifaceted musician, music producer, composer and instrumentalist with diverse musical experience spanning many genres and styles. I graduated from Bard College in 2016 with a degree in music composition. While at Bard, I was involved with the opera workshop and the audio engineering crew. I play six instruments and am able to teach most of them proficiently. Currently, I perform as a solo musician with a backing band at venues and clubs throughout the New York area, and also compose and produce music for film, TV, video games and advertisements. Instruments: Voice
I ask my students what their goal is with singing and if they want to do it professionally. Then I do vocal exercises to find out which voice my student has whether its soprano, mezzo-soprano or altos. Once I know what type of voice my student has, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire from opera, musical theatre or pop. I always ask my students how they feel with a specific vocal exercise and if they notice a change in their voice. Read More
