Once my younger students have progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I begin to introduce solo repertoire that is appropriate for their first recital performance. I typically use the Alfred method, although I still like John Thompson, and I also like the Faber method. For adults, I like to use the Alfred books that are specifically for them.
