Each student will be unique, and will be taught differently. It depends on the student as far as their skill level. I can start with scales, and basic warm ups, and move on to songs that they like that is within their level. I want the student to enjoy coming to a lesson, so I will pick songs or they will pick songs that they like, and if I feel they are up to the challenge, we will work on those songs. Read More

I have been teaching for 5 years, ever since of friend of mine asked for some lessons to help him get back to singing. I loved the direct connection to this very personal aspect of peoples' lives, and I felt humbled by the trust I was given. I gained experience by doing, asking questions, and really listening to the needs of my students. I listen a lot, and do my best to find creative, sustainable solutions to issues that could come up in the voice while also being as encouraging and realistic as possible. Read More

I am a passionate educator and performer from the greater Boston area. I love to see my students succeed and achieve their musical goals. My students have gone on to the college level at University of Massachusetts, Lowell, and University of New Hampshire. At the undergraduate level, I played with the UNH Wind Symphony and the UNH Symphony Orchestra for three years. I have had two full solo recitals at UNH, and I have had the opportunity to be recorded on the Wind Symphony CD: The Music of Daniel Bukvitch. Upon graduating with two degrees I moved to New York City. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time at various studios and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the past 6 years. I like to emphasize a consistent schedule of practice, so that this helps the student progress in their studies. I have also found that by combining styles of classical and modern music can help the student gain a better understanding of their instrument. Read More

For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level.
