I started doing some studying on vocal techniques, the anatomy of the head and throat, and the latest in vocal pedagogy research. I started teaching my own private voice lessons two years ago using what I researched and my own personal experiences. The results from my students were AMAZING. I had a student who came to me and was suffering from a voice injury and through suggested voice therapy and my voice lessons, she was able to Sing to her full potential without harshness, rasp, or vocal discomfort at all.  I am a member of Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity Inc. and our open motto is "Vita Brevis Ars Longa" The Latin to English translation is, "Life is short, Art is long." Piano: For beginning students who are children, i typically start with Alfred's Basic Piano Methods. Once students have developed the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in. I will then guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun no matter their ability level. Voice: For beginning students, I will explore the voice types (Soprano, Mezzo Soprano, Tenor, Baritone, Bass) by learning vocal scales in order to determine the repertoire appropriate for each individual student. I recommend that anyone starting to learn music begins at the age of ten simply because of finger strength and focus. I also try to ensure that they practice at a minimum of 20 to 30 minutes a day between lessons to help them reach their full potential. I stand by the "practice makes perfect" saying wholeheartedly.
