I love teaching because I get to help students not only deepen their relationship with music but also with themselves and their own vocal abilities. I always start with a voice consultation where we examine your current vocal abilities and strengths, talk about your relationship with your voice as an instrument, and dive deep into your musical goals. We will talk about which vocal techniques and exercises will be right for you and also pick out some repertoire that represents you. Read More

I teach more than 35 years now. It is a great experience combined of mostly private lessons and classroom experience. I am trying to motivate my students according to their interests and also buy using a worldly music knowledge that we inherited form generations of musicians who ever lived on Earth. Works of contemporary musicians are also used as a great tool for inspiration of my students. I encourage my students to performing public, even in a very small scale. Read More

As I mentioned, I believe creativity should be encouraged. I am okay with any pace the student goes at, however I will still hold them to a high standard in terms of effort put in. I try and make each lesson fun and enjoyable, as well as a creative experience that still focuses on theory and fundamentals. I generally tend to split the lessons up into warm up techniques, repertoire, sight reading, listening/dictation, discussing music the student likes/wants to learn, and improvisation and songwriting. I have been on stage from the age of 3 and have spent my life learning more and more about music. I participated in a musical every year in high school and even won 1st and 2nd division awards at our Solo and Ensemble Festival. From there I went to a community college to gain some life experience. While there I was part of a paid show choir that acted as an ambassador for the college. Read More

I like to begin with the basics of singing technique, sight reading, and music theory. In order to be a successful singer, one must be proficient in all of these! I like to assign music by the second or third lesson, depending on the student's readiness and ability. I typically assign one classical and/or one musical theater song, depending on the student's interest. I start with only these two genres because I feel that singing something that the student can hear on the radio can be difficult to sing while implementing the new technique they are learning in lessons with me.
