My teaching experience began in 2008, when I began teaching private lessons on various instruments, on voice, and on conducting. I later went on to teach band and choir at Cedar Bluff High School in 2011. After this, I volunteered as the band director at Valley Head High School in 2014. I have enjoyed every moment of teaching music and have taken so much from the experiences that I've had. For beginning voice I start with the fundamentals and breathing techniques. For beginning Clarinet lessons I start with the basics and fundamentals from assembling and disassembling the instrument along with proper cleaning, Storage and proper placement of fingers for playing and basic breathing techniques. Once the student grasps the fundamentals I begin to introduce notes, scales and exercises, moving up to solo repertoire. Read More

For beginning students, I focus on the essentials of theory and intervals and combine with the Voice for Life method. Each lesson is tailored to the student's needs and goals, so no lesson is exactly alike in structure. For intermediate to advanced students, I focus on aural (ear) training, sight singing and rhythm and follow it with prepared pieces in order to be "audition ready". I began teaching voice as a school project when I was 14 years old and realized that I I loved it! From then on, I always kept my hand in teaching throughout my high school and college years. I started teaching full time, at which point I added piano and speaking to my repertoire. I have experience as a performing singer, session musician and actor and I I love helping my students get the most out their lessons, whether they simply want to learn their instrument to the best of their ability, or learn more about writing music and the industry.
