I love to listen and play music very much, so I try to encourage independence in my students so that they can play what they enjoy and love. I encourage them to listen to how they play by playback recordings, humming to the tunes using their voice even when playing an instrument, so that they can listen and feel their own music. This will encourage them to increase their confidence during performance, lessen their fears and improve their motivation to be a better musicians in the future. Read More

I started teaching music lessons back when I was 14, when friends would ask for tips or lessons, and local parents wanted lessons for their children. My piano students generally start with Faber Piano Adventures. I assign them solo repertoire as they progress through each level in preparation for a recital performance. For the more advanced students, I introduce the fundamentals of playing jazz piano as well. I have my voice students sing through repertoire in the styles of their choice in order to have a better understanding of how their unique voice functions.
